Pink Ribbon Polo Classic

Weekend Run: A medium distance 7 miler on Saturday evening. But more on that tomorrow.

Today was the Pink Ribbon Polo Classic at King Family Vineyards–For other posts on King Family vineyards you check out here (for wine tasting this Spring) and here (for polo last summer).

Events like this and last weekend’s Starry Nights are some of the reasons why I love Charlottesville in the summer. This charity polo match raises money for breast cancer care and research and is a great time–especially when the weather is gorgeous, like it was today! It was also conveniently my friend Alexis’ birthday, so we created a mini party at the polo field.

King Family has a polo match every Sunday afternoon and it is usually free. Just bring some chairs, a table or spread of food and wine, and some friends.  Today’s match was $25 and it went to a great cause. It was also a bit “fancier” than most weeks, which was fun !

We did our best to channel Pretty Woman 🙂

Yummy sandwiches, cupcakes, and wine for lunch.

All in all, a perfect Sunday afternoon. One of the reasons why I love Charlottesville in the summer.

What did you do this past weekend?

Been to a polo match before?
