Memorial Day Weekend in D.C.

You might remember (if you’ve been around that long, which you probably haven’t…) but I spent a weekend last May in D.C. as well (and for another crazy weekend in D.C. check out this post). Since I already did a recap of the Alexandria Half Marathon, I thought I’d do a very brief post on the rest of Memorial Day 2012 weekend in D.C. Here’s the 20 second recap in pictures:

Friday night: Went out for drinks at sunset at the W Hotel rooftop Point of View bar

Which has a gorgeous view of the monuments and the White House

Then we moved the party to Dupont, where we had dinner at Circa and drinks at the 18th Street Lounge (the best music ever!)

After picking up our bibs on Saturday morning, we had brunch at Founding Farmers and met up with our childhood friend Julia ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunday morning was the race. After resting, we got ready and went out to eat at Georgia Brown’s (has my absolute favorite salad ever), which is right across the street from the White House

Then we went out for drinks and debauchery on U Street

Monday, Memorial Day, was a pretty chill day. We walked around the Smithsonian American Art museum. It has a great modern art exhibition

And that’s a wrap on Memorial Day weekend 2012! It was a bit more exciting than the relaxing Memorial Day 2011 I spent in Charlottesville (going to the farmer’s market and making gazpacho)

Hope you had a great time with family/friends!
