Still don’t know what I was thinking…

A marathon in Vegas?

This could possibly be one of the most unhealthy cities there is. Booze at all hours. Gambling. Smoke, Unhealthy food choices at every turn.

I still haven’t decided if this is either the best or the worst idea I’ve ever had…

There are too many opportunities to drink, stay out late, and party in Vegas. Like I did last night. And the night before. And the night before that.  All those activities that do not help you run.

There are too many people smoking. Like, there is smoke EVERYWHERE. My throat has been killing me, I think because the air is so damn dry and because I am breathing in smoke everywhere I go. Even all the nice hotels that mask the smell of smoke have smoke. I can’t go 3 minutes without having to drink water. If I can’t run because I have an irritated throat I’ll cut someone (err, well I’ll be mad).

And there’s too much shopping. Stores galore. Every amazing department store, chain store (Zara anyone?), boutique (Intermix, yes love it!), and high-end store (I splurged on a Tory Burch purse today…almost). That is definitely not healthy for your wallet.

Why did I want to run here anyways?

Oh yea, that’s why 😉

  1. Kath says:

I can’t believe people are allowed to smoke inside there….horrible!

  2. I agree with all of that…I think the night run is the coolest part! When we adopted our 4 year old Sophia (4 days old at the time), she was at a hospital in Vegas which meant we had to stay there for 16 days and wait for clearance to go back to Phx. My husband had to work some of that time so when he did (and when my mom wasn’t there to help), I was stuck in smokey Vegas hotels/casinos with two little boys and a newborn girl. I got the ugliest looks from people as if I would choose to take a tiny baby into a smokey hotel. It was stressful but Vegas still holds a special place in my heart. 🙂 Jessica
