I asked myself, why not give the hurt knee a test drive? See, I’ve been running most of my long runs on the treadmill (and after my 14 miler last week my knee hurt for 6 days). My PT told me yesterday that I should be running my shorter runs outside and my long runs on the treadmill. I currently do the opposite of that. Whoops. I guess it does make sense to work up my mileage outside where I can’t control the terrain and where my knee does double–or more like quadruple–duty on the hills.
I’m all for this plan. Problem is, I already signed up for the Richmond Capitol 10 Miler this weekend. Well, I’ll just have to start running shorter runs outside after this run.
My body will undoubtedly make the distance; my knee? That’s questionable. So we’ll see come Saturday 🙂
