Weekend Recap: Skybar, Turkey Chili & Football

Last night we checked out the opening night of a new bar/restaurant in Charlottesville: Commonwealth Restaurant and Skybar. The “Skybar” is a rooftop bar with tons of room, tvs, couches, and music. As it was opening night, it was packed!!

Today we are tailgating for the UVa game. While I’m  not a diehard UVa fan, like I am for University of Michigan or Wisconsin, it’s still fun to participate with the college football festivities here 🙂

I’m making turkey chili, my favorite healthy tailgating option. All it has in it is:

1 pound 97% fat free ground turkey
1 can red kidney beans
1 can white beans
Freshly diced tomatoes
1 can diced tomato
1 diced onion
1 jar Heinz Chili Sauce
And the addition of the following (your choice): corn, carrots, peppers

After browning the turkey I usually let this all simmer together in my slow cooker. But this morning I didn’t have that much time, so I’m making the chili on the stovetop.

At the game 🙂
